FIM-1^® Application Information

For best performance of FIM-1 treated wood products:

• Coat cut ends with a clear water repellent or matching stain with water repellent to protect exposed wood.

• FIM-1 brand pressure treated wood has corrosion rates on metal products
  similar to CCA pressure treated wood and untreated wood. Use fasteners and hardware that are in compliance with the manufacturer’s recommendations and the building codes for their intended use.

• Finish posts with caps to protect them from damage by water and weathering.

• Apply a weather-resistant finish of water repellent to help reduce warping, checking and splitting of the wood.

Finishing Information

If you desire to apply a paint, stain, clear water repellent, or other finish to your preservative treated wood, we recommend following the manufacturer’s instructions and label of the finishing product. Before you start, we recommend you apply the finishing product to a small exposed test area before completing the entire project to insure it provides the intended result before proceeding.
